Oklahoma City Public Schools Works to Fill Key Job Openings Ahead of Upcoming School Year
As the new academic year approaches, Oklahoma City Public Schools is intensifying efforts to fill critical job openings across the district, ensuring schools are fully staffed and prepared to support students from day one.
On Tuesday, district leaders and members of the human resources team gathered at the Clara Luper Center for Educational Services to discuss current employment opportunities and outline staffing needs. The meeting highlighted the district’s proactive approach to recruitment as Oklahoma City Public Schools works to strengthen classrooms, student services, and support systems across the city.
According to district officials, openings are available at nearly every level, including elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as in special education. Representatives confirmed that schools across multiple regions of Oklahoma City are actively seeking qualified educators and staff members.
“Today we have about six of our elementary schools, three of our middle schools, and then we have about four of our high schools, so all over the city,” said Dana Leach with Oklahoma City Public Schools. Her remarks underscored the widespread nature of the need and the district’s commitment to placing educators where they are needed most.
District leaders emphasized that filling these positions is about more than meeting staffing numbers—it’s about ensuring students receive consistent, high-quality instruction and support. From classroom teachers and special education professionals to support staff, each role plays a vital part in maintaining a positive and effective learning environment.
The district also highlighted the importance of recruiting educators who are passionate about serving diverse communities and committed to student success. OKCPS continues to focus on professional development, mentorship, and long-term retention as part of its broader strategy to build a strong and resilient workforce.
As Oklahoma City Public Schools prepares for the upcoming school year, officials encourage interested candidates to explore available positions and consider joining a district dedicated to educational equity, innovation, and student growth. By addressing staffing needs now, the district aims to start the school year on solid footing—ready to support students, families, and educators alike.
For the Oklahoma City community, these hiring efforts represent an investment in the future, reinforcing the belief that well-supported schools are essential to student achievement and long-term success.
