Jakob Esperum Obituary, Death; The community of Beavercreek is mourning the tragic loss of Jakob Esperum, 20, who died following a devastating single-vehicle crash that plunged into the Willamette River in downtown Portland on April 6, 2026.
Authorities confirmed that Esperum was identified by the Multnomah County Medical Examiner’s Office, and his family has since been notified. He was one of four occupants inside the vehicle at the time of the incident.

According to the Portland Police Bureau, the vehicle was observed traveling at a high rate of speed and moving in the wrong direction through downtown streets before fleeing from an attempted traffic stop. The situation escalated when the vehicle crossed into Waterfront Park and ultimately entered the river.
Investigators reported that two other occupants—Roberto C. Garcia-Chavez, 19, and Trent Badillo, 17—also lost their lives in the crash. A fourth ব্যক্তি survived after being rescued from the water. Jakob Esperum was later confirmed among those who tragically did not survive.
