In Loving Memory of Alfonzo P. Johnson

With heavy hearts, we remember Alfonzo P. Johnson, 28, of Williamsport, whose life was tragically taken in a fatal crash early on September 14 in Lamar Township, Clinton County.

According to Pennsylvania State Police at Lamar, the crash occurred around 1:42 a.m. on U.S. 220 near the Salona exit. Johnson was traveling northbound in a 2012 Ford Taurus when, for reasons still unknown, the vehicle entered the southbound lane.

A southbound tractor-trailer, driven by Joshua A. Stuart, 32, of Cameron, New York, attempted to avoid the Ford by moving into the northbound lane. Police reported that Johnson then tried to return to his proper lane. As both vehicles attempted to move back into their respective lanes, they collided head-on in the southbound lane.

Johnson was transported to UPMC Lock Haven Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. His passenger, Chrystal G. Steward, 28, of Williamsport, suffered suspected serious injuries and was flown by Life Flight to a hospital in Danville. Stuart was not injured.

While the circumstances of the crash remain part of the investigation, today we choose to remember Alfonzo not only for the tragedy that took his life, but for the person he was and the memories he leaves behind.

At just 28 years old, there were undoubtedly many dreams, plans, and moments still ahead. His passing is a painful reminder of how precious and unpredictable life can be.

May his family, friends, and loved ones find strength, comfort, and peace in the memories they shared with him.

Rest in peace, Alfonzo. Gone too soon, but never forgotten.
