Codie was traveling northbound on his motorcycle when it collided with the rear of an 18-wheeler that was turning onto the roadway. The impact caused him to be ejected from his bike, striking a shipping container on the trailer. He was rushed to the Medical University of South Carolina, where, despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced deceased at 7:24 a.m., as confirmed by the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office.
