BRANDON, Fla. — The Brandon community is mourning the loss of Travon Jackson, 30, who was fatally shot at an apartment complex off Lake Chapman Drive on Monday, March 9, 2026. He leaves behind a young son, family, and friends who are struggling to come to terms with his sudden passing.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded just before 6 p.m. to reports of a disturbance at the apartment complex. Upon arrival, officers found Mr. Jackson suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced deceased at the scene. Investigators said the shooting stemmed from an altercation at the complex. Authorities confirmed that all individuals involved have been accounted for and that no arrests have been made at this time.
