Father of Three Killed in Rollover Crash in Walker County; Wife Injured

Ryan L. Muncher Death, Obituary: WALKER COUNTY, Alabama — A 39-year-old husband and father was tragically killed in a rollover crash that also injured his wife in Walker County. The victim has been identified as Ryan L. Muncher, a resident of Empire, Alabama.

The incident occurred on Monday, March 23, 2026, just before 8:30 p.m. on Campbellville Road near Sipsey Road, approximately seven miles east of Jasper. Alabama State Troopers responded to the scene and began their investigation into the fatal crash.

According to Sgt. Reginald King of the Alabama State Troopers, Ryan “Catfish” Muncher was a passenger in a Lexus GX460 that left the roadway, overturned, and struck a tree. Muncher, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was ejected from the vehicle upon impact. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Muncher’s wife, 37-year-old Amanda Muncher, was driving the SUV at the time of the crash. She sustained injuries in the incident and was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for medical treatment.

Ryan L. Muncher leaves behind his wife and three sons. Family members have described him as a loving father and husband who will be deeply missed. A funeral service has been scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at the chapel at Collins-Burke Funeral Home.

This tragic event has left the family and community in mourning. Troopers are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash, and they urge all motorists to wear their seatbelts at all times, as seatbelt use remains one of the most effective ways to prevent ejection and reduce the risk of fatal injuries in a crash.

As the investigation into this devastating crash continues, Alabama State Troopers extend their condolences to the Muncher family during this incredibly difficult time.
