The community of Winterville, North Carolina, is grieving the heartbreaking and sudden loss of Robinson Babcock, 62, who died in a hit-and-run motorcycle crash on the evening of March 11, 2026, in Pitt County. According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, troopers responded shortly before 8:00 p.m. to a crash involving a motorcycle on U.S. 13 at U.S. 264 Alternate near Moye Turnage Road. Investigators reported that a pickup truck struck Babcock’s motorcycle, causing him to be thrown from the bike during the impact. Despite the quick response from emergency personnel, he sadly died from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
