Though her time on this earth was far too short, the love she gave and the joy she brought into the world will never be forgotten.
Marissa was a bright and beautiful soul, full of life, curiosity, and kindness. At just 12 years old, she had a spirit that could light up any room and a smile that brought comfort and happiness to those around her. She had a way of making people feel special, seen, and loved—an extraordinary gift that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She was deeply cherished by her family, who were the center of her world. Marissa is now reunited with those who preceded her in death: her father, Kevin Carstensen; her Grandpa Roger Britten; her grandparents Deb and Steve Uarich; and her special aunt Bootsie. While the loss of Marissa is immeasurable, there is comfort in imagining her embraced by their love once again.
She leaves behind a family who adored her beyond words—her loving parents Jenna (Dane) Uarich; her sisters Leah Carstensen and Berkly Uarich; her grandparents Jim and Joan; along with extended family members, friends, classmates, and all who were lucky enough to be part of her life. Each of them carries a piece of her spirit, her laughter, and her love.
