Excelcare Rehab Facility Shooting Egg Harbor Township, NJ: Fatal Shooting at New Jersey Rehab Center Leaves One Dead, One Critically Injured

One person has died and another remains in critical condition following a shooting at a rehabilitation facility in New Jersey, authorities have confirmed.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m. on Monday at the Excelcare rehabilitation facility located on the 6800 block of Delilah Road in Egg Harbor Township.

According to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, emergency responders were called to the scene after reports of gunfire inside the facility. Upon arrival, officers found two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second was transported to hospital in critical condition.

Officials have stated that there is no ongoing threat to the public. Early findings suggest the shooting was an isolated incident involving individuals who were known to one another, though investigators have not released further details regarding the nature of their relationship or the events leading up to the shooting.

The case is currently being jointly investigated by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office and the Egg Harbor Township Police Department. Authorities are working to gather evidence, interview witnesses, and review any available surveillance footage from the facility.
