In Loving Memory of Ed King
With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we share the passing of Ed King, a beloved leader, cherished friend, and true icon within the community. After bravely battling cancer, Ed passed away, leaving behind a legacy that reaches far beyond the walls of the restaurant he built and the business he nurtured for so many years.
To know Ed was truly to love him. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome from the moment they walked through the door. His genuine smile, the cheerful whistle that often accompanied his work, and the warmth he shared with everyone around him made him a familiar and comforting presence to so many people. Whether someone was visiting for the first time or had been a regular for years, Ed treated each person like family.
Ed was not only a business owner; he was a community builder. Through his dedication and passion, he created more than just a restaurant—he created a place where people gathered, shared stories, celebrated milestones, and found comfort in good food and friendly company. For many, it was not simply a place to eat, but a place that felt like home.
His love for his customers was genuine and deeply felt. Ed took pride in remembering names, asking about families, and making sure everyone left with a smile. To him, the people who walked through the doors were never just customers; they were friends, neighbors, and extended family members.
The impact Ed King made on the community cannot be measured simply by the meals served or the years his restaurant operated. His kindness, generosity, and welcoming spirit created lasting memories for countless individuals. His presence brought people together and fostered a sense of belonging that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
For the staff who worked alongside him, Ed was more than a boss. He was a mentor, a guide, and a friend who led by example. He showed what it meant to work hard, care deeply for others, and take pride in serving the community with sincerity and heart. The lessons he shared and the encouragement he gave will remain with them for years to come.
During this time of grief, we pause to reflect on the incredible life Ed lived and the many people whose lives were brighter because of him. His laughter, his kindness, and the warmth he brought to every room will be deeply missed.
Out of respect for Ed and the King family, Ed’s Family Restaurant will remain closed through the weekend. This time allows staff, friends, and community members the opportunity to grieve and honor the life of a man who meant so much to so many. Information regarding memorial or service arrangements will be shared once they have been finalized.
As the community comes together in remembrance, we ask that everyone keep the King family and the entire restaurant staff in their thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time. Their loss is immeasurable, but the love and support of the community will continue to remind them just how much Ed meant to everyone.
Though Ed King may no longer be with us in person, his legacy will live on through the place he built, the people he inspired, and the countless memories shared within the walls of his restaurant.
Rest in peace, Ed. Your kindness, your spirit, and the community you built will never be forgotten.
