In Loving Memory of Aaron Wood
Today, we remember and honor the life of Aaron Wood, a beloved friend, mentor, and brother in the Newman Construction family. His passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of his family, friends, colleagues, and everyone whose lives he touched over the course of his remarkable life.
Aaron dedicated 26 years of his life to Newman Construction, serving as a Superintendent and helping shape the work, culture, and reputation that make the company what it is today. His leadership was marked by integrity, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Known for saying, “The job isn’t going to do itself,” Aaron embodied a work ethic that earned the respect of everyone he worked alongside. Every challenge he faced was met head-on, with steady guidance, hard work, and pride in every project he oversaw.
Raised on a farm in Wayne County, Aaron learned early the value of hard work, responsibility, and caring for those around him. These lessons stayed with him throughout his life, reflected not only in his work but also in how he treated every person he encountered. He believed in doing things the right way, supporting his team, and ensuring that people felt valued and respected.
Aaron’s greatest pride, however, came from the people in his life. He often said the best part of his job was the people he worked with and the people he worked for. His patience, strength, and willingness to help anyone who needed guidance left a lasting impression on countless coworkers and friends. He was a mentor to many, a friend to all, and for some, a father figure whose guidance and support will never be forgotten.
Aaron was also a devoted father. His sons, Riley and Jaxon, now work at Newman Construction, carrying forward the values of hard work, loyalty, and pride in one’s craft that he instilled in them. Beyond work, Aaron cherished simple joys—spending time with his boys, working on backyard projects, and enjoying moments with his beloved dogs, Clyde & Wasta. He also knew how to lighten a room, teasing and joking with friends and colleagues, always accompanied by a grin that could lift anyone’s spirits. His laughter, his humor, and his warm presence were constants in the lives of those around him.
Aaron Wood leaves behind a legacy that extends far beyond the work he accomplished. His influence lives on in the people he mentored, the lessons he taught, and the love he shared. The impact of his life will continue to be felt in every jobsite he led, every colleague he supported, and every person who had the privilege of knowing him.
Our hearts go out to Riley, Jaxon, his family, and all who loved Aaron. May they find comfort in one another, in the countless memories shared, and in the enduring legacy of a life lived with purpose, kindness, and heart.
Rest in peace, Aaron Wood. Your work, your guidance, your laughter, and your love will never be forgotten. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
