Authorities reported that the Jeep fled the scene immediately after the crash, leaving the injured motorcyclist behind before emergency crews arrived. First responders from Life EMS, the Township of Kalamazoo Fire Department, and the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety provided urgent medical assistance before transporting Smith to a nearby hospital.
