Julianne Marie Burgess, 70-year-old Laura Ellen Brysacz, and 3-year-old Piper Rubi McCullough Death, Obituary: The Greenville community is mourning the tragic loss of 57-year-old Julianne Marie Burgess, 70-year-old Laura Ellen Brysacz, and 3-year-old Piper Rubi McCullough, who died in a house fire Thursday night on Sugar Creek Lane. Piper was the great-granddaughter of Laura Brysacz.

Firefighters from the Boiling Springs Fire Department and mutual aid agencies responded around 9:30 p.m. on April 2. While battling the blaze, crews discovered the three victims inside the home.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office confirmed the identities of the victims. Burgess and Piper died from inhalation of smoke and thermal burns, while Brysacz’s death was confirmed through radiographic comparison, and Piper’s identity was verified through DNA analysis.

Authorities say the cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation. The Coroner’s Office is working closely with fire investigators and law enforcement to determine all details.

Family, friends, and the community remember the victims for their warmth, presence, and the joy they brought to those around them. Their sudden passing has left an irreplaceable void in the lives of loved ones.
