Plainville Tragedy: Felisha Matthews, Daughters Ava King and Mileena Matthews Killed in Murder-Suicide Involving Patrick King
Felisha Matthews, 31, her 4-year-old daughter Ava King, her 12-year-old daughter Mileena Matthews, and 27-year-old Patrick King Causes Of Death, Obituary PLAINVILLE — Felisha Matthews, 31, her 4-year-old daughter Ava King, her 12-year-old daughter Mileena Matthews, and 27-year-old Patrick King were all found dead Friday afternoon in a Plainville home in what authorities are investigating as an apparent murder-suicide.
Police responded to 36 Milford Street around 3:53 p.m. after receiving a 911 call from a woman who reported that her brother, Patrick King, had confessed to shooting his girlfriend and a child. When officers arrived, they quickly secured the area, shutting down Milford Street and establishing a perimeter around the home.
Inside the residence, authorities believed King was still present. Police made repeated attempts to communicate with him over several hours, urging him to come out peacefully. The situation remained tense as officers worked to de-escalate and gain control without further loss of life.
According to investigators, Felisha Matthews and her two daughters, Ava King and Mileena Matthews, were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities later confirmed that Matthews and King were in a relationship and shared a daughter, Ava. Mileena was Matthews’ daughter from a previous relationship.
After hours of unsuccessful communication, law enforcement deployed pepper gas in an effort to force King out of the home. Moments later, authorities say King died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound inside the residence.
The tragic incident has left the Plainville community in shock, as neighbors and residents grapple with the devastating loss of a young mother and her two children. Police maintained a heavy presence at the scene throughout the evening as investigators processed.
