According to the information provided by the Virgin Islands Police Department, multiple 911 calls were received at approximately 2:21 p.m. reporting the sound of gunshots in the Princess Villas community. Calls also reported that an unresponsive male was lying on the ground.

VIPD officers and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene. Upon arrival, they found a male individual who showed no signs of life. The deceased was subsequently identified by a family member as Ricardo Richards.

At only 29 years old, Ricardo’s life was taken far too soon. Behind the circumstances of this tragedy was a person with a family, friends, memories, hopes, and a future that should have continued to unfold.
