It is with heartbreaking sadness that we share the devastating news of the passing of Jackson Sherwood, a beloved son, brother, friend, and community member from Saint John, NB. Jackson’s life was filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories that touched everyone he met. His sudden departure on March 17, 2026, leaves a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the entire Nebraska community, which mourns the loss of a young man whose spirit and kindness made a difference.

Jackson Sherwood was born on April 22, 2006, in Saint John, NB. From the moment he arrived in this world, he was a bright light—making his mother Ginny a proud mom and quickly earning the title of the oldest sibling of Mike’s “second batch” of children. Jackson’s childhood was marked by adventure, curiosity, and a love for life that was contagious. Whether riding in trucks, exploring the bay on boats, dirt biking, snowmobiling, or simply getting stuck in mud holes, Jackson’s zest for life knew no bounds. He had a knack for turning everyday moments into cherished memories, and his infectious smile could light up any room.

Jackson’s early years were characterized by a strong work ethic and a passionate love for the outdoors. He started school at BES, then moved across the road to graduate from BRHS in 2024. From a young age, Jackson demonstrated a remarkable ability to balance work and play. He held his first jobs at Valley View Sales and Sharp’s Dairy Barn while still in school, juggling multiple responsibilities with dedication and resilience. After graduation, Jackson earned his Class 1 license and began working for his Uncle Vance at Sarcon, where he was trusted with the keys to his first truck, affectionately called “Jack’s Truck.” His recent role with the Department of Transportation as a snow plow operator, earning the nickname “Snow Fighter,” showcased his love for driving and his pride in contributing to his community.

Jackson’s personality was one-of-a-kind. His contagious smile, hearty laugh, and playful spirit made him a friend to many—children and seniors alike. “Torment” was his middle name, but it was all in good fun. His love for vehicles was legendary, especially his prized 1980 Bullnose Ford, which he took pride in maintaining and showing off. Jackson’s adventures weren’t limited to the outdoors—he also had a big heart, especially for his loved ones.

A pivotal part of Jackson’s life was his relationship with Alex, whom he began courting on February 23, 2022. Their love was genuine and deep, and Alex became a cherished part of his life and family. Jackson’s caring nature extended beyond his family and friends—he had a way of making everyone feel special. His kindness, humor, and relentless positivity left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered.

Jackson is survived by his loving parents, Mike and Ginny Sherwood, and his treasured siblings Jillian, Ryan (Shawna), Megan (Austin), Logan (Sophia), and Gabe. His grandparents, Bill Sherwood and Ivan and Marj Neill, along with a large circle of beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and his sweet nephew Cade, will forever carry his memory in their hearts. Predeceased by his grandmother Ruth Sherwood and uncles Wayne and Jeff, Jackson’s legacy of love and kindness continues to inspire.

The community is invited to honor Jackson’s life at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), Norton, NB. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 6 to 9 PM, and Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 2 to 9 PM.
