Moreno Valley Man Sean Street, 38, Killed in Assault; Brandon Thigpen, 37, Arrested and Charged with Murder
Authorities in Moreno Valley, California, are investigating a deadly assault that occurred on March 17, 2026, that left 38-year-old Sean Street dead and led to the arrest of 37-year-old Brandon Thigpen. The incident, which took place in the 14000 block of Big Horn Avenue, has prompted an ongoing homicide investigation by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office as officials work to determine the circumstances that led to the fatal attack.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station were dispatched at approximately 2:47 p.m. to a local hospital after receiving a report that a man had been dropped off with injuries believed to be the result of an assault. When deputies arrived, medical personnel informed them that the victim had succumbed to his injuries despite efforts by hospital staff to save his life.
The victim was later identified as Sean Street, a 38-year-old resident of Moreno Valley. Authorities began an immediate investigation, speaking with witnesses and gathering evidence to determine where the assault had occurred and who might have been responsible.
During the investigation, deputies determined that the assault took place in the 14000 block of Big Horn Avenue in Moreno Valley. Investigators worked to piece together the sequence of events that led to Street being transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Through witness statements and investigative leads, authorities identified 37-year-old Brandon Thigpen, also of Moreno Valley, as the suspect in the case. Deputies responded to the area connected to the investigation, secured the location, and began actively searching for Thigpen.
Officials later located Thigpen and took him into custody without incident. Following his arrest, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed control of the investigation to continue gathering evidence and conducting interviews.
Authorities confirmed that Brandon Thigpen was subsequently booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside on a charge of murder.
Investigators say the case remains active and ongoing as detectives continue reviewing evidence and speaking with potential witnesses to determine exactly what led to the fatal assault.
